Nation Associates are invited to join in our bimonthly conference calls by dialing in or logging in on the web.  The calls allow our donors to engage directly with some of our most prominent writers and editors.  Please note:  we must have your email on file for you to receive invitations.  Send us your email by clicking here.

This call focused on the state of print media in the United States, particularly the impact of record-setting postal increases on small magazines.  We were joined by Nation Washington correspondent John Nichols and Free Press co-founder Robert McChesney.

May 2009

This call addressed the questions:  Where have all the literary critics gone?  What has happened to the intellectual life they once created?  And what is the future of literary study on campus?  The call featured a talk with two-time National Magazine Awards nominee, William Deresiewicz, and The Nation’s literary editor John Palattella on Evolutionary Psychology and Literary Criticism.
